1985 Halmatic 30 MkII for sale in Kent
The Halmatic 30 MkII is a long-keeled offshore cruising yacht with well-mannered performance and the ability to handle the very worst weather. Easily handled by one or two, these traditionally styled yachts have a surprisingly spacious layout below, with excellent headroom and plentiful of storage. This yacht was sailed single-handed around Britain in 2014. This good example has an in-mast main and furling headsail for easy sail handling and has been well maintained, including new standing rigging in December 2022 and continually upgraded and is presented for sale in really nice condition. This yacht was built in 1984 and used as a demonstrator in 1985 by Halmatic before being sold to the first owner in 1986. Last out of the water March 2023
Accommodation :
The accommodation offers up to five berths in two cabins. There is full standing headroom (6’3”) and excellent stowage throughout.
In the forecabin V berth with stowage under. Opening hatch to deck. Separate heads to starboard with marine toilet and washbasin. Hanging locker opposite. In saloon, dinette to starboard (converts to double) with settee berth opposite, upholstery finished in blue velvet. Saloon table with opening leaf.
Chart table to starboard with galley opposite. Wet hanging locker. Two burner gimballed Taylors paraffin cooker with two rings. Stainless steel sink with pressurised pumped water supply. 30-gallon freshwater capacity in stainless steel tank. Cool box with WAECO compressor and evaporator. Radio/CD player new in 2018. Berths fitted with lee cloths. Heated throughout via an Eberspacher diesel heating system.

History and Construction:
Built in 1984 by Halmatic to a design by John Sharp. Light blue GRP hull. Teak toe rail. White GRP superstructure with moulded non-slip to the deck. Long keel with external cast iron ballast. Keel hung rudder. Tiller steering. Aft self-draining cockpit. Full professional Osmosis treatment carried out in 2004. This yacht was sailed single-handed around Britain in 2014.

Spars and Sails:
Masthead rigged sloop. Anodised aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (December 2022). Terylene running rigging (renewed as required). In-mast furling system. Headsail furling system Rotostay 2001. Some lines led aft. Spinnaker Pole, In December 2022 the mast was un-stepped, completely stripped, in-mast furling bearing replaced, rewired, new VHF Ariel, Windex and LED masthead lights fitted.

Mechanical Systems:
Located behind the companionway, 1985 Volvo MD7B two-cylinder 17hp diesel engine. Engine hours 734 since the new engine hour metre installed in 2013. Electric start, direct cooling Shaft drive to two bladed fixed propeller. Single lever control. 50 litre fuel capacity in stainless steel tank giving approximately 190-mile range at 5 knot cruising speed. Maximum speed under power 6 knots. The engine has been regularly serviced by the owner. Last serviced December 2022
Electrical Systems:
2 x 12-volt 88Ah 2014 batteries charging from the engine alternator, solar panel, NASA BMI battery management system. Shore power connection with 240-volt ring main, 300w inverter.
