Accommodation :
The Altena 38 offers spacious and comfortable accommodation designed for extended cruising or liveaboard use. Below deck, she sleeps up to four in two well-appointed cabins.
Forward is a bright double cabin with a generous V-berth, plenty of storage, and natural light from an overhead hatch. It has good storage space.
The raised saloon and wheelhouse form a welcoming social area, featuring panoramic views through large windows. You step down into a comfortable dinette with a table that seats four, with the galley opposite. The galley offers all the essentials for onboard living, including a 2-burner gas cooker, an oven with grill that was new in 2024, a double sink with hot and cold water, a refrigerator and freezer, and abundant storage for provisions

The helm stations, due to their upper and lower positions, give excellent visibility and easy access to the side decks and aft cockpit. This trawler motor yacht has Eberspacher diesel cabin heating, D4. The upholstery is chocolate coloured velour fabric, which gives a warm, cozy feel to the vessel.
Aft down a couple of steps lies the owner’s cabin, featuring a spacious offset double berth, wardrobes, and additional storage, offering privacy and comfort for longer stays aboard. It also has a separate shower with pressurised hot and cold water and a marine head with sink with hot and cold water, a marine toilet with a holding tank.
The engine room, located beneath the saloon sole, allows excellent access for maintenance and service. The companionway steps lead up to the upper helm and aft deck, which gives easy access to the side and foredecks. The side decks have guardrail gates. There is a step of transom steps that lead down to the bathing platform, giving easy access to the dinghy when lowered on the davits.

History & Construction
Built in 1992 this Altena 38 has a white steel hull and decks with non-slip surfaces. It has a steel deck in the aft cockpit area. Wheel steering. Steel toe rails. Stainless steel stanchions, pulpit. Glass windscreen with black bonded surround. Walk through the transom gates to the bathing ladder to the bathing platform. Teak battens to the bathing platform. Self-draining cockpit. Currently out of the water, October 2025. Last antifouled and hull polished, and anodes changed in April 2025. The owner is selling as looking for a newer, smaller motor yacht.

This Altena 38 has a single New Holland (NHD675L), a 6-cylinder 150HP diesel engine with a shaft drive to a fixed 4-blade prop. The engine is keel cooled. There is a rope cutter fitted to the shaft. The cutlass bearing was last changed in 2013. The engine has completed a total of 2411 hours as of 7th October 2025. The engine was last serviced in May 2023. There is a total of 700 litres of fuel stored across three steel fuel tanks. This trawler motor yacht has a cruising speed of 6 knots and a maximum of 7 knots. To make handling easy, this boat is fitted with a bow thruster.
