Niebla was conceived for an owner with an 18-metre mooring outside his home, who knew exactly what was needed to fill the space: a new, fin-keel-free, moderately displaced yacht with classic lines, easily handled by two to three people, simple to maintain, and offering maximum comfort within the elegant proportions of a long-ended design. Her design was inspired by the 1926 Alfred Mylne Bermudan cutter Chicane, widely regarded as a benchmark of classic functionality in a manageable size. Captivated by her timeless charm, the current owner has cherished Niebla for nearly twenty years, a true testament to the yacht’s enduring appeal. Niebla has completed comfortable transatlantic crossings and explored both sides of the ocean, from the breezy Caribbean islands to the serene fjords and sounds of Germany and Denmark’s Baltic coast. Recently given a light refit at one of Germany’s leading yards, including replacement of the rod rigging and B&G navigation equipment, as well as professionally refinished varnish work in 2021, Niebla is now ready for new adventures.
