ENDLESS PLEASUREThe hull of the Italia Yachts 9.98 is the result of extensive statistical analysis and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) crossed with performance prediction programs. The specific geometry achieved results in very fine waterlines and clean exits when the boat is upright, favoring performance in light air and swell. When the heel increases, the lines broaden to guarantee greater form stability while remaining symmetrical. These studies, combined with experience on the racing circuit, have resulted in an excellent compromise between high performance and ease of handling.
EXTERIORThe deck lines were modeled to find the best compromise between maneuverability ergonomics and interior space, while naturally prioritizing aesthetics. Thanks to the refined shapes and chamfers, the designers achieved low aerodynamic impact and a crisp, modern look. Maintaining clean airflow around the coachroof was the guiding principle for the designers, who created a functional, ergonomic, and safe deck suitable for both full-crew and short-handed sailing. Externally, the Italia 9.98 Bellissima is equipped with a twin-wheel steering system, two comfortable cockpit benches (also covered in synthetic teak), and an integrated bowsprit (dolphin striker).
INTERIORThe IY 9.98 is also perfectly suited for long cruises; it pairs exhilarating sailing performance with refined, welcoming interiors featuring handcrafted finishes. The interior layout includes two cabins, an aft head, and a central salon with a dinette, galley, and chart table. The modern design is characterized by gelcoat surfaces that are practical for both racing and cruising. Certain elements, such as cabinets and lockers, are made of fabric and can be removed to lighten the displacement for racing.
The joinery is crafted from marine plywood with a laminate finish and grey non-slip flooring. Doors are fitted with sills and finished with technical aluminum frames to increase durability during sporty use. The chart table is located in the salon, while the „L-shaped“ galley includes a sink, refrigerator compartment, and a gimbaled stove.
