Remarks :
Westerly GK24 for sale in Kent

This 1979 Westerly GK24 is a classic British-built pocket cruiser, offering the perfect blend of simplicity, seaworthiness, and coastal cruising versatility. Designed by Gordon K. (GK) and built to Westerly’s renowned standards, she is celebrated for her solid construction, easy handling, and shallow draft, making her ideal for exploring the UK’s estuaries, rivers, and coastal waters.
Despite her compact 24-foot length, the GK24 is a capable and comfortable cruiser, with a practical interior layout that provides up to five berths, a functional galley, and an enclosed heads — all thoughtfully arranged to maximise space and comfort for weekend escapes or short coastal adventures.
Her well-balanced hull and easily managed rig inspire confidence under sail, whether single-handed or with family aboard, while her classic lines and traditional joinery give her enduring charm. Reliable, versatile, and economical to run, the 1979 Westerly GK24 remains a favourite among sailors seeking a small, robust cruiser that punches above its size and delivers years of enjoyable sailing.

Accommodation :
The 1979 Westerly GK24 offers a simple, practical interior layout that maximises space for her compact size, making her an ideal starter cruiser or economical weekend yacht.
Accessed via the companionway, the main saloon is bright and functional, with seating to both port and starboard around a central table, creating a comfortable area for dining or relaxing. These saloon settees also convert to additional berths, providing flexible sleeping arrangements.
Forward is the V-berth cabin, which can be used as either two singles or infilled to form a generous double berth. Storage shelving is provided along the hull sides, with additional stowage beneath the berths, offering useful space for cruising gear.
To port is the compact galley, typically fitted with a sink, cooker provision and storage for utensils and supplies — perfectly adequate for preparing simple meals aboard.
Opposite the galley to starboard is the enclosed heads compartment, fitted with a marine WC and washbasin, providing welcome privacy compared with many yachts of this size.
Overall, the Westerly GK24 offers up to four berths in a straight forward, easy-to-maintain layout. Finished in traditional Westerly styling with practical joinery throughout, she provides cosy accommodation for short cruises or overnight stays, with good headroom for her class and sensible storage solutions. Please note that there are no cushions available with the yacht.
A classic small cruiser interior that delivers exactly what’s needed for coastal adventures and weekend sailing.
