Owner speaks : After 25 years of windsurfing, I rediscovered the thrill of sailing in high-performance boats such as the First 21.7, RM 880 and Django 980. It was on this last boat that an epic night-time crossing of the Bay of Biscay, with an average headwind of 40 knots, motivated my wife and me to move towards a 12-metre offshore vessel, more in line with our new plans for retirement (ocean cruises of two months or more). The required nautical characteristics were:
– Speed and upwind performance (square-topped mainsail and backstays),
– Safety (releasable forestay with new staysail / thruster / high-performance autopilot combined with two wheel steering),
– Reliable and efficient engine (Yanmar 40 hp),
– Energy autonomy (lithium batteries, gantry with solar panels),

While sailing aboard a new DEHLER 38 SQ in the Baltic Sea (mainly off the coast of Sweden in spring 2023), the discovery of a serious illness in Denmark brought our trip to an end; back in southern Brittany, the decision to sell the boat was inevitable.
After spending the summer of 2024 along the coasts of Brittany and Vendée, AUDREN MOR was sent for servicing to the Plaisance Nautique Services shipyard in Le Crouesty.
