Owner speaks : We placed our order for the Django 9.80 in December 2020, with a launch date set for April 2021. We found this boat to be the perfect compromise. Its seaworthiness and performance are already widely recognized : it is a very seaworthy, very safe boat that accelerates at the slightest breath of wind. Its favourite points of sail (and mine too) are reaching under Code 0 and downwind under spinnaker, with very good behaviour when the wind and sea get rough. Equipped with twin keels, without any loss of performance or stability, but allowing navigation in shallow waters and access to shallow ports (Vannes, La Rochelle Vieux Port, etc.) or with shallow access channels, very easy beaching, with beautiful stopovers in the port of Sauzon in particular. The layout is simple but very well designed, practical at sea and comfortable at anchor: a very well-designed galley, lots of large and accessible interior storage compartments, very high headroom (over 1.90 m) for a 32/33-foot boat, which remains high when moving forward. We wanted a version with three cabins so that we could accommodate crew members. It is still possible to use one of the two aft cabins as a technical storage area, but we did not need to do so. The cockpit lockers are very spacious and can hold absolutely everything: dinghy, stern support, hoses, electrical cable, jerrycan, fenders, headsails (two spinnakers and a staysail), secondary anchor, mooring lines, etc. And there is still plenty of room for other equipment. The shipyard is very flexible, so we were able to add a few extra features such as a handrail inside, running the length of the roof. Finally, we chose the 30hp version (instead of 20hp), which allows for safer manoeuvring in strong winds and better cruising speed when the wind drops and we still want to make progress.
